Cabier's
taxi service can pick you up anywhere on the island.
TRANSFERS FROM
THE AIRPORT
The
airport Point Salines is about 50 minutes away
from the Lodge.
The transfer will cost the local taxi rate
US$ 18,75 per person minimum rate US$ 37,50.
Cabier
offers the taxi service because the
local taxies do not have 4WD and do not know the
directions and road situation. So they can't drive
right down to the Lodge and often drop the guests
with their luggage at the main road. From there
it is about 15 minutes through tropical nature on
an unpaved road to walk to the Lodge. TRANSFERS
TO THE OSPREY
FERRY TO CARRIACOU
AND PETITE MARTINIQUE
The
OSPREY Ferry leaves at the Carenage about 40 minutes
away from the Lodge.
The transfer will cost the local taxi rate
from US$ 34.
The Osprey passenger ferry is the most efficient
and cheapest way to travel between Grenada, Carriacou
and Petite Martinique. info: www.ospreylines.com.
From Carriacou you can also take a plane(www.svgair.com),
but there is no airport on Petite Martinique,
and the only way to get there is by boat or ferry.
BUS CONNECTION
TO CABIER
The
airport is not on a main bus route. It's sometimes
possible to pick up one of these off-route buses
at the airport on its way back to the main route
to St George's or Grand Anse. Expect to pay the
off-route fare of EC$10 for this service. From
St. George`s central bus station you have to take
the Bus # 2 to Grenville and leave the bus before
at the Shell gas station Crochu. Notice you have
to share a small Minibus with 15 other persons.
Read in our weblog about the experience to take
a bus. No bus service on Sundays and after 8:00
during the week. From the Shell Gas Station you
have to go opposite to the Rumshop to Florence
Edwards and ask that she should call us that we
can pick you up from her, because with heavy luggage
it is not easy to walk down through the tropical
nature.
RENTAL
CAR
If you wish we can order a rental car (4 WD jeep)
for you.You can pick it up directly from the airport
or the rental car will be
delivered to the Lodge for free (minimum 3 days
rental). You will need a valid driver's
licence and the rental car company prepare for
you a local permit available (US$12). We recommend
a 4WD Jeep because of our nature road from the
village to the beach. Depending on the rental
car size, the duration, and the season the jeep
will cost between US$ 47-65 per day. Driving is
on the left-hand side. Please read in our weblog:
How to drive in Grenada, to be good prepared.
DIRECTIONS
TO CABIER
If your are coming from the south (airport or
St. George´s) drive along the direction
Grenville. If you see a yellow Sheel gas station,
this is the sign that you are arrived in our village
Crochu. After the gas station take the second
road on you right hand side down through our village.
You will find Cabier signs on the way. If you
reach a pumpy nature road, you can be happy, because
Cabier is not far anbymore. We are sorry, but
the best beaches and locations are not on the
main road.
