Get ready for Grenada`s hottest event - Carnival in August
Starting in June with a series of competitions, festivals, pageants and parties until August 12th.

  • in June the Fisherman’s Birthday Celebrations
  • in August - Grenada´s Carnival and Rainbow City Festival (a local celebration of the arts)
  • In 2003, a new festival was introduced by the Grenada Board of Tourism and the Heritage Theatre Company: the Annual Grenada Spice Laugh Festival. Feeding on the long storytelling tradition of the Island and the modern form of stand up comedy, the festival features local and regional comedians who take the stage to put on their own personal show.

You should not miss "Fishfriday" - weekly food street partying - all about fish in Gouave.

Running event "HASH" in Grenada:
every other Saturday at precisely 4 pm the Hash House Harriers invite runners and walkers to meet at a designated rumshop, somewhere in Grenada. You have to follow a trail of shreded paper witch takes you through some of the most attractive parts of the island. You will return a couple of hours later to consume large quantities of beer and undo all the goods that this running has done to you.

Oktober 25 - Thanksgiving Day: Thanksgiving in Grenada is a public holiday commeorating the anniversary of the 1083 Caribbean and American military.

November 8 - Carriacou Regatta: TTSA Carriacou Sailing Series in Carriacou, the climax of Grenada's yachting year. It is now a huge festival that involves not only local boats and boat-building skills, but parties, parades and much jollity. It is essential to book accommodation well in advance. Venue: Tyrell Bay Marina, Duration: 4 Days

January 1 - New Year’s Day 2008: officially a public holiday and is celebrated by many with traditional religious services.

January 21: 39th Annual Spiceisle Billfish Tournament, which draws anglers from around North America and the Caribbean. Venue: Grenada Yacht Club, The Spout, Duration: 5 Days

January 25: 14th Annual La Source Grenada Sailing Festival: The Festival attracts sailing enthusiasts from all over the world and features 4 days of races

February 4 - Carriacou Carnival: duration 2 days

February 7 - Independence Day: on February 7th 1974, grenada declared its independence from the British and adopted a modified Westminster parliamentary.

March 17 - St Patrick’s Day Festival: Grenada´s northern parish of St. Patrick celebrates the feast of St. Patricks with a week of activities.

March 20: 6th Annual Grenada Round-the-Island Easter Regatta: From the completion of the opening of the channel into St. George´s Lagoon in 1960, Grenada saw a growing number of pleasure. Venue is the Grenada South Coast Yacht Club

March 21 - Good Friday: Many christian churches in grenada, commerate the anniversary of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

March 24 - Easter Monday

April 25: 8th Annual Carriacou Maroon Music Festival: launched in 2001, the festival provides a scintillating 3 day display of Big drum nation Dance.

May 1 - Labour day: each year this day is celebrated with parades and parties organised in honour of Grenada´s workers.

May 12 - Whit Monday: Whitsun is a feast of the universal Church which comemorates the descent of the Holy Ghost upon the Apostles.

May 22 - Corpus Christi or the feast of the Body of Christ is celebrated in the Latin Church.

June 29 - Fisherman’s Birthday: It is the feast day of St. Peter and St. Paul and a huge traditional celebration in Gouave, but also all over the island. Boats and fishing nets are blessed followed by boat races and street partying.

August 1 - Carriacou Regatta Festival: the Carriacou Regatta began in 1965 as a local boat race using the traditional fishing workboats. Duration 4 days.

August 4 - Emancipation Day: this public holiday celebrating the abolition of slavery.

August 11 - Carnival Monday

August 12 - Carnival Tuesday: Parade of the Bands - Last Lap in the streets of St. Georges and Jouvert in Sateurs.

October 12 - Grenada Cricket Classics Festival: Duration 5 days
